Entering contests is a great way to build a resume or portfolio, as well as sometimes earning some cash. With the onslaught of youtube and other sites, there are hundreds of contests every year. Try searching for video contests, or google a specific type of video with the keyword contest and see what you find.
The schooltube website has several contests going on all the time, with some great rewards such as cash prizes, equipment, and trips. Check out their site frequently for contest info.
Also, look at VidOPP, the video clearinghouse site that list all sorts of contests.

NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL FILM FESTIVAL
On Tuesday May 18th students from all over western Washingtopn will gather at the Cinerama to watch the best films of the year. One of them could be yours!!!This competition is the premiere contest for High Schools in the Seattle area. There are 11 categories, and the contest is held in the spring with Oscar-like trophies as awards. Past NWHSFF winners have been featured at Sundance!!! More info on the website.
