NAME POEM
ARTISITIC FORMATTING IN WORD

For this assignment you will use Microsoft Word to produce a fun and interesting name poem using a variety of formatting tools. A name poem contains your name on the left side of the page running down, with other words that describe you running across the page, each one starting with a letter of your first name. I am looking for a clear, easy-to-read poem, with good use of graphic design.

Guidelines:

· Length is one page--you should strive to fill all space with your design---use the print preview!!

· Must have your first name typed vertically on the page and lined up (do not center)

· Must have descriptive words or phrases that start from each letter of your name

· Must be easy to read; clear letters distinct from the background color.

· Must be spell checked!

· Use a minimum of 5 of the following:

§ Clip Art

§ pictures from internet

§ drawing tools and shapes

§ word art (be careful to not overuse)

§ borders

§ background

§ different fonts

§ manipulated images

Your grade will be based on the creativity (and appropriateness) of your poem as well as the overall design and layout (balance, use of colors, font and image choices, etc)
