Marla’s Blog Updates!

Evening School Registration:

Any juniors that received a lavender-colored note from Marla requesting they come in to pick up registration materials for Evening School need to do so before or after school, during lunch time, or during breaks! You have until January 29^th, 2010 to register but let’s not wait that long!

 

PSAT Scores!

PSAT scores are in and are being hand out in your LA class on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (December 15^th – 18^th)! If you are absent when Marla comes in to hand out the scores, please see her during breaks in your school day to pick up your scores. Please do not come in “ahead of time” as they are sorted by teacher and period!

Remember: This is the first assessment you have taken where 1/4^th of a point is taken off incorrect answers (no points are taken off if you do not answer a question at all). This is the same scoring protocol for the SAT. The ACT does not take any points away for an incorrect answer. Each of the three sections of the PSAT (Reading, Writing and Math) are worth 80 points, for a total of 240 points. You may use the analysis of incorrect answers (at the bottom of your PSAT score sheet) and your test booklet as one way to study for the SAT in the spring.

 

SAT and ACT Registration!

Please remember to register for a May or June SAT exam! If you need/qualify for a fee waiver (based upon a current status of free/reduced lunch) – you may see Marla before or after school, during lunch or between classes! You may use a fee waiver to register for the SAT online or by mail. If you qualify for a fee waiver and wish to register for the ACT – you will need to see Marla and mail in your registration. If you do not qualify for a fee waiver you may register for the SAT or ACT online. Our school code is: 481080. Please remember to register for at least one of these assessments during December or January so that you are assured a comfortable test-taking site for May or June!
